MY DEAR TWIGGY
1999 - July 26, 2018 from Largo, Florida
My former porch kitty who stole my heart and made my house a home.
One day you showed up on my porch, following your two other porch kitties, Scrappy and Tubby. Scrappy and Tubby eventually took their turns going to the rainbow bridge, but you remained. You were so small and thin, I called you Twiggy.
With love and care, you became a healthy loving 18 pound cat! You loved the outdoors and I had an indoor male cat that had always been alone. But when the coyotes started roaming the neighborhood, I took you in every evening and gave you shelter in my garage. During the winter, you were warm and cozy in your heated bed and electric blanket. Sharing your food with the raccoons and opposums without even a glance. So kind and gentle, that when my indoor cat passed away I took you in and made you an indoor cat too!
I loved you dearly every moment of your too short life of 19 years. Every morning, you greeted me on the other side of my bedroom door. Your two adopted cats, Jake and Ginger waiting patiently while you were fed first. Always by my side in the kitchen or under my desk. Never sick or ill with only thyroid medicine right till the end.
Life is not the same without you here in your home but you will always be in my heart little man. Snuggling close when I held you for the last time, resting your head in my hand and leaning in to the chin scratches you always loved. I know you are safe from pain and old age. Your arthritic joints hurt no more. Only the best for you forever, no one deserves it more my gentle soul. I will love you always and forever.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When a beloved pet dies, it goes to the Rainbow Bridge.
It makes friends with other animals, and they are as healthy and playful as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
Together, the animals chase and play, but the day comes when one will suddenly stop and look into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent, and his eager body quivers. Suddenly recognizing you, your pet bounds quickly across the green field and into your embrace. You celebrate in joyous reunion. You will never again separate.
Happy tears and kisses are warm and plentiful; your hands again caress the beloved head. You look into the loving eyes of your pet and know that you never really parted. You realize that thought out of sight, and your love had been remembered.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.
